<p>Awarded 4 November 2022 to the Trafigura (49.5%) / Mota-Engil (49.5%) / Vecturis (1%) consortium; railway services formally transferred on 4 July 2023 with committed investment of $455m in Angola and $100m in DRC. A $753m financing package — DFC $553m and DBSA $200m — was signed in December 2025 to fund rehabilitation, targeting a tenfold capacity increase to 4.6 Mt/yr and transport-cost reductions of up to 30%.</p>
