The African Development Bank Board has approved a $250 million loan facility for the Zambian section of the Lobito Corridor, the missing rail link between Chingola and the Angolan border. AfDB President Akinwumi Adesina said the financing is part of a coordinated package with the U.S. DFC and EU Global Gateway. Construction is expected to begin in late 2026, with the Zambian Ministry of Transport finalising EPC bid evaluation. The 1,300 km greenfield line is a centerpiece of the tri-national corridor development.
